I’ve been telling friends and family all year that the results of this election would show the true colors of our fellow Americans. Are we a nation of racist authoritarians? Or, can we course correct back to a true democratic republic? Yesterday, whether Joe Biden is eventually declared the victor or not, way too many of our fellow countrymen showed us their horrid, ugly colors.

66 million Americans (and counting!) voted for incompetence, racism, hatred, and authoritarianism over competence, decency, and democracy. These numbers make the stomach sink and the heart heavy.

And in his refusal to accept the vote counts, Trump is already showing exactly how dangerous he would be if given the second term so many voted for: anti-democratic and anti-American.
